About the Fairfield County Medical Foundation

Philosophy

  • To operate exclusively for charitable, scientific and educational purposes.

Purpose

  • To operate exclusively for charitable, scientific and educational purposes;
  • To improve the health and medical care of the people of Fairfield County;
  • To aid, supplement and improve medical education, care, research, and facilities for the general benefit of the public and particularly the people of Connecticut, acting alone and through support of institutions accomplishing the foregoing, including the Fairfield County Medical Association;
  • To sponsor medical education;
  • To provide assistance to study medicine to qualifying students;
  • To provide assistance to institutions which care for indigent or destitute physicians;
  • To aid institutions engaged directly or indirectly in the preservation of the health of the people of Fairfield County, and of the State of Connecticut;
  • To participate and/or operate educational programs concerning healthcare;
  • To sponsor continuing studies of the role of medicine in Fairfield County and
  • Connecticut;
  • To solicit, receive and administer funds, contributions or grants from any source to
  • be applied to the charitable, educational and scientific purposes of the Corporation.

Goals

  1. To improve the health and medical care of the people of Fairfield County.
  2. To provide medical education for the benefit of physicians and the public through sponsorship of educational programs.
  3. To enhance the education of Fairfield County medical students through scholarship financial aid.
  4. To improve the health of Fairfield County physicians needing rehabilitation relating to alcoholism, substance abuse, behavioral or mental issues and/or physical illness.
