Mission Statement

Founded in 1792 by a Special Act of the Connecticut General Assembly, the purpose of the Fairfield County Medical Association is to bring together, in one organization, the doctors of medicine of Fairfield County, Connecticut; to increase their knowledge in the art and science of medicine; to enlighten the public in matters of health and to promote the health of the community.

Joseph Feuerstein, MD, Elected President of Fairfield County Medical Association

Joseph Feuerstein, MD has been elected president of the board of trustees of the Fairfield County Medical Association (FCMA) at its annual meeting. Professionally, Dr. Feuerstein is an attending physician at Greenwich Hospital. He is Assistant Professor of Medicine at Columbia University in New York, Assistant Professor at Quinnipiac University Frank H. Netter, MD School of Medicine and on the faculty of the University of Arizona Andrew Weil Center for Integrated Medicine. Dr. Feuerstein has a private boutique concierge practice in Greenwich serving lower Fairfield County residents. He previously served as Director of Integrative Medicine at Stamford Hospital. He now leads a physician organization with nearly 1,000 physician members.

Joseph Feuerstein, MD, was born in England and studied medicine at the University of London. He completed a rotating internship in general and trauma surgery at the Tel Aviv University before serving as a combat physician in two elite units of the Israeli Navy, where he is still a reserve officer, with the rank of Captain. He received his MBA from the University of Cambridge. Feuerstein moved to the United States two decades ago and completed an internship and residency in family medicine at the Columbia University–Stamford Hospital Family Medicine Residency Program, where he served as chief resident in his final year. He then spent two years studying with Andrew Weil, MD, as part of his fellowship in integrative medicine at the University of Arizona’s School of Medicine.

Today Dr. Feuerstein participates in research to help advance the field of integrative medicine and discover new ways to treat health conditions without the use of prescription medication. His research has been published in numerous journals and presented at conferences across the country.

Dr. Feuerstein authored two books, “Dr. Joe’s Man Diet” and “The Cannabinoid Cookbook: Transform Your Health Using Herbs and Spices from Your Kitchen,” an #1 Amazon bestseller. He appears on video weekly on ZOE Today Show on the ZOE Broadcasting Network, Inc., the largest African faith-based TV Network.
